The challenge

Biomass testing was generating CO₂ concentrations beyond what the installed sensors could read, and results had to be logged by hand. The system could not be pushed to the loadings the research actually needed.

What DSAT delivered

A volatile-liquid extraction system with SSS and PLE, and a customised carbon-emission system (High Tech Engineering, India). CO₂ sensors were integrated with data loggers across all six reactors, and additional solvent gases were added to test versatility across multiple solvents. Later dismantled, reinstalled and upgraded with advanced data logging.

The result

The CO₂ measurement range increased to accommodate the higher concentrations generated during biomass testing, and every experiment logged its own data correctly.

Outcome

Wider biomass samples and higher-loading experiments evaluated without exceeding the sensor limits - test capacity expanded, not merely replaced.
