The challenge
There are critical infrastructure of national importance, be it of historical or commercial significance, situated in the flying zones, so their obstruction lighting must meet UAE aviation safety requirements set by location, height and impact on air navigation. An assessment against GCAA regulations were required to ensure that the new aircraft warning lights complied with those regulations.
What DSAT delivered
An assessment against UAE GCAA regulations, then replacement of existing units with compliant Clampco Sistemi aircraft warning lights. In locations where the weather could be adverse and accessibility would be limited, retractable units were implemented as required and designed.
The result
An ACWL system compliant with the UAE regulations governing structures in the flying zones protecting key structures of national importance.
Outcome
Obstacle marking and lighting for aircraft, on structures of national significance that constitutes a hazard to air navigation.
